do we get to Hudson’s Hope?
Hudson’s Hope is located 90 kilometers west
of Fort St. John and 66 kilometers north of
Chetwynd on Highway 29. Our community is accessible
primarily by highway. While there is a local
airport that services private and charter aircraft,
the nearest commercial airport is located in
Fort St. John. The nearest major centre, Grande
Prairie, Alberta, is a driving distance of
295 km.
What is the dumper user-fee?
A fee of $90.00 per year is charged for using
the transtor site and having your garbage
picked up at your residence. A fee of
$23.00 per year is charged for use of the
transtor site only.
When are taxes due by?
Property taxes are sent out in the mail.
The due date for paying is July 4 of the
current year. Failure to pay by that date
will result in a penalty of 10% being added
to the total payable in the current taxes
column of your tax notice.
Do they still have dam tours?
Yes, there are dam tours at both WAC Bennett
Dam and Peace Canyon Dam. At the WAC
Bennett Dam the tours start at 10:30 am
and are each hour on the half hour. The
last tour of the day begins at 4:30. These
tours are offered seven days a week and
no reservation is required. The Peace Canyon
Dam is available for tours from 8 am to
4 pm daily. Visitors may conduct a self
guided tour or have one of the tour guides
show them around the visitor center.

There are three restaurants in Hudson’s Hope
for dining.
