Areas for fishing in the Hudson's Hope & surrounding area:

Please refer to the Fresh Water Fishing Regulations prior to fishing at any of the below listed fishing spots.

Carbon Lake:

Carbon Lake is located over the WAC Bennett Dam.  To get to the lake you have to cross the Dam Crest, make a right towards the boat launch.  Approximately 300 feet ahead you will come to a “Y” and you must stay left.  This will put you on the West Utah/Table Creek Road.  Follow the road until you come to a “T” in the road, at Johnson Creek Road.  Turn right and follow the road for 28 km.  You will find two trails to the right leading down towards the lake.  The one on the right gets a little rough and will take you down to the lake, where there is a small dock.  The one on the left will take you into the campground, also to the lake.  There is a forestry campground on the lake which is not maintained. Motor boats are allowed with a maximum of a 10hp engine restriction. Some of the most common fish found in this area are Rainbow Trout, Boat Trout (Dolly), and Lake Trout.

Dinosaur Lake:

Dinosaur is a 6 km drive south of Hudson’s Hope. This Lake was created by the Peace Canyon Dam. There is a boat launch available, and there is no boat size restriction.  A variety of fish can be found in Dinosaur Lake including Bull Trout, Rainbow Trout, Kokanee, Burbot, Lake Trout, Mountain White Fish and Lake White Fish.

Williston Lake:

Wiliston Lake is formed behind the WAC Bennett Dam. There is a boat launch available across the WAC Bennett Dam. A variety of fish can be found in Williston Lake including Bull Trout, Rainbow Trout, Kokanee, Lake Trout, Mountain White Fish and Lake White Fish.
