Jamieson Woods Nature Preserve

Jamieson Woods Nature Preserve is home to ancient sand dunes, mature mixed pine/aspen forest, abundant variety of flowers and shrubs including calypso orchids and intricate mushrooms.  This tranquil woodland setting is home to many types of birds, including, most unusually, seven species of woodpeckers.  There are great trails for mountain bikes in the summer and cross country skiing in the winter.  The trail layout provides designated areas for ATV’s and snowmobiles.

Cameron lake Outdoor Education Facility:

Cameron lake Outdoor Education Facility is operated by School District #60 and is located at Cameron Lake.  It offers excellent trails for both hiking and cross country skiing.  For reservations please contact Steph Ackroyd.

Inside facts about Hudson's Hope

Guide and outfitting has been a mainstay of the Hudson’s Hope economy since the 20’s.  Several big game businesses presently make their headquarters here, catering to a world-wide clientele.

Coal, that was “king” in the 1930s, has returned with new exploration throughout the region.
