In construction of the WAC Bennett Dam,
a conveyor belt which was 4.8 kilometres
long, moved glacial moraine material which
was used to form the base of the dam.
It was the longest conveyor belt during
the time the dam was being built.
Reginald
Shaw, better know as Uncle Dudley, arrived
in Hudson’s Hope in 1907. Our present day
dinosaur town mascot “Dudley” is named after
Dudley Shaw.
